MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CHEVROLET BLAZER

The Chevrolet Blazer is a mid-size crossover SUV produced by General Motors brand Chevrolet. The vehicle went into production in December 2018 and sales began in January 2019 as a 2019 model.

The Blazer nameplate, whose history dates back to 1969 when it was introduced as a two-door large SUV, was introduced to the public in Atlanta on June 21, 2018 as a mid-size crossover SUV that will be slotted in between the compact Equinox and the 3-row full-size Traverse.

It will serve as a counterpart to the GMC Acadia in the mid-size crossover SUV segment and will be built on the same platform as the Acadia. The vehicle’s design will detail a sporty-style look that takes its cues from the Camaro but will have a crossover SUV feel.

HISTORY

Chevrolet Blazer (and GMC Jimmy) can refer to one of several SUV models from General Motors:

  • The full-size Chevrolet K5 Blazer, based on the C/K pickup chassis and built from 1969 to 1991 (renamed Blazer in 1992 and Tahoe in 1995 for the 2-door model)
  • The compact and mid-size Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, based on the S-10 pickup and built from 1983 to 2005
  • The Chevrolet TrailBlazer (2001–2009), originally a trim package on the S-10 Blazer until 2002, when it became its own, larger model
  • The Chevrolet Tahoe, sold in Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Venezuela under the Grand Blazer name from 1990 to 2000 to 2019
  • The Chevrolet Trailblazer (2012–present), a body-on-frame SUV based on the Chevrolet Colorado that is available since 2012 in Southeast Asia and South America
  • The Chevrolet Blazer (2019–present), a mid-size crossover that is available since 2019
  • The Chevrolet Trailblazer (2019–present), a subcompact crossover that is available since 2019 in China and 2020 in North America

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE FOR YOUR CHEVROLET BLAZER

The rest of the service schedule comes directly from the Owner’s Manual. Here are just a few examples of service highlights:

  • Every 7,500 miles:

At this interval, your Chevrolet mechanic should rotate tires, inspect brake pads and engine air filter, and following the Engine Oil Life System, change the oil and oil filter as necessary.

  • At 22,500 miles:

Many of the same tasks as seen at 7,500 miles are repeated here, but they are joined with a replacement of the passenger in-cabin air filter.

Oil changes and tire rotations continue through the 30,000- and 37,500-mile range.

  • At 45,000 miles:

It’s time for another oil and oil filter change, along with a tire rotation. But Chevrolet changes it up a bit, by adding a replacement of the in-cabin air filter, and an inspection of the evaporative control system. They wrap this service up by replacing the engine air cleaner filter, and a replacement of the rear axle fluid, if your car is equipped with a Limited-Slip Differential.

These are all basics that every owner should be aware of. Just remember to keep in mind, the 7,500-mile intervals that appear like clockwork for proper service of your Chevrolet vehicle.
